The Global Business Traveler’s Association brings together professionals in the travel industry from all over the world for their annual conference. With nearly 7,000 attendees, it is one of the largest annual gatherings of business travel and meetings managers, meeting planners, procurement professionals and suppliers in the world. This year’s event featured keynote speakers Hillary Clinton, Laura Bush, and singer songwriter Jewels.

After a great response from the set we created for GBTA the previous year, they contacted us about their next year’s conference stage design. They wanted something innovative and cool that could also tie in the global theme. After presenting several concepts they selected the most intricate and technically difficult stage design that featured a half geodesic dome with projection on it.

We created a custom geodesic dome that was 20′ in diameter and used three 10K projectors aimed at it. We created custom graphics and video content for the dome and used 3D mapping to ensure that projection was only visible on the dome surface. Everything had to be pre-assembled in Virginia, then shipped to California, setup and configured in less than two days.
