Global Business Travel Association

Stage design with 3D projection

The Global Business Traveler’s Association brings together professionals in the travel industry from all over the world for their annual conference. With nearly 7,000 attendees, it is one of the largest annual gatherings of business travel and meetings managers, meeting planners, procurement professionals and suppliers in the world. This year’s event featured keynote speakers George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and comedian Seth Meyers.

GBTA12-1

GBTA contacted us after seeing pictures of a stage design we had done for a church. They were interested in a design that had projection surfaces at 45 degree angles that would work with their large center screen that they already had planned. They wanted something that would create a visually appealing look behind the speakers on stage.

We created a custom box grid that spread over 40′ across the stage and utilized three 10K projectors. When we arrived to assemble the pre-constructed set, the main trussing rig that had been hug by the AV company was placed lower than the drawings we had been provided. This resulted in our set not fitting under the screen. Thankfully we had brought all the tools necessary to modify the set so that it would fit under the center screen. The end result was a spectacular event that featured two former presidents as keynote speakers.
