Hopefully by now you have designed a creative and effective logo yourself or selected a logo design to make one for you (if not, read our guide to choosing a logo design company). Once you have a logo design for your company or organization, what do you do now?
In order to use your logo successfully, you need to use it everywhere and on everything you can. After all, what would Nike be without the swoosh or Apple without its iconic logo? Below is a list of ways to use your logo and have branding success.
Apparel
People where clothes to work, to school, to go shopping, out to dinner, to meetings–to all kinds of places. Apparel with your logo on it is a great way to get your company name out there. If you expect other people to where apparel with your name on it, then you’ve got to wear it too. It also makes for a great conversation starter every time someone asks you about it.
Pens & Pencils
Although pens and pencils are disposable, they are an inexpensive way to get the word out about your company. If you don’t think you logo will work well on a golf ball or pencil, then read the importance of logo design simplicity.
Magnets & Bumper Stickers
It depends on what type of business you have, but many professionals (such as realtors) find it effective to give clients or potential clients a magnet with a calendar, their logo and contact information on it. Other organizations like colleges and universities use bumper stickers to spread their name and logo. You can use these techniques to help brand your logo successfully.
Business Cards
If you can only afford to put your logo on a few things, make sure you business cards are at the top of the list. People will hold on to your business card for many years to come and you want to make sure that it leaves a lasting memory in their minds. This is one of the most essential and important ways to brand your new logo design.
Gifts
When you give gifts to your customers you can use it as a means of advertising by having your company logo printed on the gift. Although it adds only a little to the cost of the gift, it multiplies its advertising effect.
Letterhead, Envelopes and Mailings
Letterhead, envelopes and mailings are essential ways to brand your company through the use of your logo. Anytime you write a note to a customer or perform a mass mailing it should contain your logo.
Website
Many businesses fail to have their website match their company image. When people visit your website they should not be surprised at what they see. You want your website to match your letterhead, business cards, and business in appearance, style, look, and so on. Make sure your logo appears on every page of your website so that you can further your branding success.
Advertising and Marketing
If you’ve decided to spend money on advertising through different channels, make sure it is with the understanding that they will use your company logo in the advertising. Whether it’s a coupon in the mail, a banner ad on a website or even a TV commercial, make sure they use your company logo. Also make sure that your logo appears on all of your marketing pieces.
Sponsorships
Anytime your business sponsors a sports team, event or prize ask the organization you’re sponsoring to use your logo along with your company name. This will add value to your sponsorship, make your company more visible, and your branding more successful.
